FreeCell

Description

FreeCell is played with a standard deck of 52 cards where the first four columns have seven cards, while the other four have six cards. The object of the game is to get all of the cards into the house cells as quickly as possible.

The setup:

  • The Free Cells: In the upper left corner, there are four piles.
  • The Foundations: In the upper right corner, there are four piles.
  • The Tableau: The main table is made up of eight piles.

The Tableau piles are numbered 1 through 8, with piles 1-4 starting with 7 cards 5-8 starting with 6 cards. The Free Cells and Foundations are both empty.

The objective:

You must get all the cards on Foundations to win in FreeCell. The Foundations are arranged by suit and rank, each Foundation has one suit, and the cards must be arranged in the following order: Ace 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Jack King Queens.

Moves:

Transfer one or more cards from one Tableau stack to the next. If the top card of a Tableau pile is one higher than the moved card and in a different color, you can move it to another Tableau pile. For example, you could move a red 7 onto a black 8. If the top cards on a Tableau pile are ordered, e.g. you have red 7, black 6, red 5 as the top cards, then you can click the red 7 and move all of them together onto another Tableau pile that has a black 8 as its top card.
